Agnieszka Popiel
Professor, Clinical Director of the SWPS University Clinic of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Institute of Psychology
Professor Agnieszka Popiel is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist (PTTPB, SITCC, EABCT), and a psychotherapy supervisor (PTTPB). In her clinical practice, research and teaching she specializes in evidence based psychotherapy, psychopathology and treatment of mental disorders. Her clinical and research work focuses on treatments of posttraumatic stress disorder, in particular the efficacy, effectiveness and predictors of outcome. She is Co-chair of a clinical program TRAKT devoted to studies on the efficacy of PTSD treatments in victims of car accidents. Professor Popiel is a Member of the Working Group for Training Standards of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT). She is also the founder and former President of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (1999-2005, 2007-2009), a National Representative at EABCT (since 2000), a member of several scientific committees, including the EABCT Congresses in Prague (2003) and Marrakech (2013), and the International Scientific Support Group for the World Congress of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies in Berlin 2019. Over the years, she has led many workshops, training and clinical supervision session in Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, and Romania. Professor Popiel is the author of numerous congress presentations, articles, book chapters and books. She is a co-author of a handbook Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy. Theory and practice (2008), and a co-editor of a handbook Supervision in CBT (2013). She also co-authored a protocol of a PTSD prevention program for the treatment of work related trauma. At SWPS University Professor Popiel is the Chair of a 4-year postgraduate program in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and the Clinical Director of the SWPS University Clinic of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Ewa Pragłowska
Co-director of the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Psychotherapy
Co-founder of the University's Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Clinic, co-director of the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Psychotherapy, associate of the Center for Clinical Research and Excellence in Psychotherapy Clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and supervisor of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Deals with post-traumatic stress disorders, such as those in professions with high exposure to trauma (paramedics, firefighters, soldiers, doctors of certain specialties). He studies affective disorders, i.e., those with mood changes, such as depression, hypomania. He is interested in the prevention of emotional disorders and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy as a form of treatment for emotional disorders. At SWPS University, she teaches cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy supervision.
Przemysław Bąbel
Professor of psychology, the director of Jagiellonian University Institute of Psychology
Prof. Przemysław Bąbel, PhD, is a full professor of psychology, the director of Jagiellonian University Institute of Psychology, the chair of Jagiellonian University Research Discipline Council for Psychology, and the head of the Pain Research Group at Jagiellonian University. He is the president of the Polish Society of Behavioral Psychology, a member of the Steering Committee of the Society for Interdisciplinary Placebo Studies and a member of the Committee on Psychological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His research interests include learning mechanisms of placebo effects, memory of pain, and the psychological factors that modulate pain perception. Prof. Bąbel is also interested in applications of behavior analysis and the psychology of memory in education and therapy, including the therapy of persons with chronic pain and autism spectrum disorder. Prof. Bąbel has co-authored over 100 scientific publications, including eight books and more than 100 popular science publications. In 2008, he received the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Golden Mind – Master in Knowledge Promotion Award for his contribution to the popularization of science, and in 2018 he received the Prime Minister’s Award for highly valued achievements, on the basis of which his Doctor of Science habilitation was awarded. In 2019, Prof. Bąbel was awarded the Association for Psychological Science Fellow status for his sustained outstanding contributions to the science of psychology. In 2023, Prof. Bąbel received recognition in the Stanford-Elsevier ranking, placing within the top 2% of the world's most-cited scholars.
Bogdan Zawadzki

Bogdan Zawadzki: professor, PhD, full professor at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw. He has published nearly 180 scientific papers and given dozens of conference presentations on the psychology of individual differences, the psychology of traumatic stress, and the therapy and prevention of post-traumatic disorders. For his contribution to the development of psychotherapy in Poland, he was made an honorary member of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy in 2018. From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Central Commission for Degrees and Titles, from 2019 to the present he is a member of the Council for Scientific Excellence and from 2020 of the Committee on Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Specialist in sexology and psychiatry, psychotherapist. He specializes in helping transgender and gender diverse people experiencing gender non-conformity. Additionally, his area of clinical interest includes problems of homosexual and bisexual people. He learned about transgender health care at the Nottingham Center for Transgender Health and the Center for Sexology and Gender at Ghent University Hospital. He is a graduate trainer and associate with Pink Therapy in London. Head of the Laboratory of Sexology at the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University CM. Vice President of the Polish Sexological Society (PTS), the only certified member of WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) in Poland and one of several certified members of the European Committee for Sexual Medicine (FECSM). Author and co-author of dozens of scientific publications. He co-edited the first monograph on LGB psychology in Poland, titled. 'Introduction to LGB Psychology' and a compendium for practitioners, titled. 'Dysfunction and Gender Nonconformity'. He is a co-author of the first Recommendations for the health care of transgender people in Poland, adopted by the PTS. He edited a psycho-educational manual for patients, their relatives and families, titled. 'Health of transgender and non-binary people'. Professor Paul Salkovskis is Professor of Clinical Psychology in the University of Oxford Department of Experimental Psychology. He is also Course Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) at the Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training and Research and Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College. He is Director of the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and the Oxford Health Psychological Interventions Clinic (OHSPIC), a specialist national NHS Clinic. Tullio Scrimali, M.D. and Ph.D., is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Catania University, Department of Medical, Chirurgical Sciences and Advanced Technologies. He serves as Member, Teacher, and Supervisor, in the European Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (EABCT) and in the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT). He is the Founder and Director of ALETEIA International, European School of Cognitive Therapy, located in Enna and Catania, Italy. This School is credited by the Italian Minister for University and works under the umbrella of EABCT. The main research of professor Scrimali focuses on schizophrenia and psychosis, eating disorders, translating discoveries from neuroscience into clinical applications (applied neuroscience and neuroscience-based cognitive therapy), biofeedback-based strategies for emotion regulation, integrating cannabidiol-based phytotherapy into cognitive therapy. Stefan G. Hofmann is the Alexander von Humboldt Professor at Philipps University of Marburg (Germany) where he holds the LOEWE Spitzenprofessur for Translational Clinical Psychology (Germany). Prof. Hofmann is a leading expert in researching and treating anxiety disorders, with a focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is the editor of Cognitive Therapy and Research. In 2023, he received the Career/Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and has been named a Highly Cited Researcher every year since 2015. Prof. Hofmann is a fellow of AAAS, APA, APS, and ABCT. He has received many awards, including the Aaron T. Jürgen Margraf is Alexander von Humboldt Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and Director of the Research and Treatment Center for Mental Health at Ruhr University Bochum. In his main area of work, Mental Health, he is particularly interested in the combination of causal and therapeutic research as well as the interaction of psychological, biological and social factors. His work has been manifested in over 500 publications as well as leading textbooks, clinical dictionaries and therapy manuals. Prof. Margraf was founding of the Scientific Advisory Board for Psychotherapy of the Federal Republic of Germany, director of the Swiss National Research Center sesam (swiss etiological study of adjustment and mental health), president of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies, and president of the German Psychological Society (DGPs). He is a member of the Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (National Academy of Sciences) and the Academia Europaea, and a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. His work has been repeatedly honored, including the Franz Emanuel Weinert Award for his outstanding scientific achievements in anxiety research and the Young Members' Supervisor Award of the Division of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the DGPs for outstanding dissertation supervision. He was the first psychologist to receive the Humboldt Professorship, the most highly endowed German research award.

Alan E. Fruzzetti - Professor of Psychology and Director of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Research Program at the University of Nevada, Reno.  He earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle. Professor Fruzzetti, serves as Director of Research and is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD), sits on the Board of Directors of the International Society for DBT Research and Teaching and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Linehan Institute. He is the author of some 100 scientific and clinical papers and 2 books. In his works and clinical practice, Professor Fruzzetti pays particular attention to the complex relationships between dysfunction of a person's emotion regulation system and the family and social environment. Recognizing the importance of these interactions, he adapted DBT therapy to work with couples and families.In addition, together with Dr. Perry Hoffmann, he created the Family Connections (NEABPD) program, which is focused on offering free support to loved ones of individuals experiencing emotional regulation problems and suffering from borderline personality disorder. Professor Fruzzetti provides DBT training in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Agata Muszyńska
sychologist, CBT therapist (PACBT, EABCT), advanced level schema therapist, schema therapy supervisor and trainer in individual therapy, and an advanced level couples schema therapist (ISST). She currently provides individual schema therapy for adults and couples in private practice, although she began her journey with psychotherapy by leading group therapy. She specializes in the treatment of dysfunctional personality traits or disorders, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (complex PTSD) and Prolonged Grief Disorder. She supervises future schema therapists, conducts training in schema therapy as well as schema therapy self-practice/self-reflection workshops for future therapists. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, she regularly supervises a group of Ukrainian schema therapists who help their patients in and outside Ukraine as part of her voluntary work. She is a lecturer at the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at SWPS University, leaded by Prof. Agnieszka Popiel and Dr. Ewa Praglowska. She also cooperates with training centers abroad: Schema Therapy Training UK in the UK and Schema Therapy Institute SouthEast in the USA. In the years 2012-2020, she was a member of the Audit Committee of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (PACBT), and in 2021-2022 of the Individual Schema Therapy Certification Committee of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST)
